ABSTRACT

Rummy is an ageless game of expertise and planning. Organize your hand by creating sets (groups of cards with the same rank) and runs (sequential cards of the same suit) while minimizing "deadwood" – cards that do not fit into any sets or runs. The game concludes when a player reaches the target score, usually 100 points, turning it into a competition of outwitting your opponent and claiming triumph.


DIRECTIONS

  1. Aim: Minimize "deadwood" in your hand by creating sets and runs.
  • Sets: Collections of cards with identical ranks (e.g., three 7s).
  • Runs: Series of cards in the same suit (e.g., 4, 5, 6 of Hearts).
  1. Scoring:
  • Add the opponent's remaining deadwood points to your score.
  • Knock or "go gin" (no deadwood) to maximize points.
  1. Victory:
  • The initial player to reach or surpass 100 points wins the game.
  • Avoid letting your opponent reach 100 points first!
